Research into Blaisdell Center's memorial history began in 2010. In 2012 this project was initiated to seek the rededication and preservation of the Blaisdell Center as a War Memorial.

On November 10, 2015, the City and County of Honolulu sponsored and rededicated a new memorial plaque on the grounds of the Blaisdell Center.

Current Goals include:

• Continue to educate the public that the Blaisdell itself is the Memorial. It is Honolulu's war memorial auditorium complex.

• Find those who remember the original memorial dedication and plaque. Collection of oral histories, photos, etc. will help piece together the story of how the Blaisdell was planned, dedicated, and forgotten as a memorial.

• Nominate historic Blaisdell Arena and Concert Hall to the State and National Register of Historic Places. The Blaisdell is an important piece of recent Hawaii history and is worthy of official recognition. Both buildings have been found eligible for historic designation by the State Historic Preservation Department. Historic designation would not hamper future development.
